Tomorrow’s Leaders Start Here

Scouting is different from other extracurricular activities:

  • We have unique and varied opportunities that no other activity offers. We don’t just practice then play a game, we learn and do so much more: leadership opportunities, community service, talks from local experts and professionals, life-skills taught in age-appropriate ways, bike rides, campfires, pool party meetings and camping trips are just a few of our activities.

  • We have a culture of safety for adult registered leaders: two-deep leadership where there are always at least two registered adults involved in any one activity, mandatory registration and background checks, fingerprinting, Youth Protection Training, and all registered leaders have mandatory reporter status.

  • Parents join the adventure!

Scouting Alumni recognize the positive impact that Scouting has in their lives.

  • Core memories are formed in Scouting.

  • Scouting has a culture of strong, positive, universal values.

  • Scouts improve themselves, their community, and their country.

  • We build character and have fun doing it!

Scouting provides an inclusive environment.

Pack 650 welcomes ALL children and families: all religions, races, ethnic backgrounds, and genders are welcome here!

  • We recognize that all individuals are unique, with varying backgrounds, needs and strengths.

  • We value every person’s unique attributes, skills and voice.

  • An inclusive environment is part of our core ideals: helpful, friendly, courteous, kind and cheerful.

Scouting offers amazing value for money.

  • Annual dues are affordable and cover all Pack shows, Den meeting supplies, and advancement awards.

  • Uniform grows easily with the Scout and can be passed down to younger Scouts.

  • Cub Scouting is largely volunteer based, which keeps costs lower.
